Vivaldi's Violin Concerto in A Minor, arranged for Marimba Orchestra (Digital Download)

$17.00

This piece is an arrangement of Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto in A Minor. The solo part is copied, verbatim, to a 4-octave marimba; the basso continuo part has only a few minor changes from the original to fit the lower range of a 5-octave marimba, while also avoiding any physical collisions between the two players sharing that marimba.

The instrumentation for this marimba quintet is as follows: the soloist plays a 4-octave marimba, two more players use one 4-octave marimba* each, and two players share a 5-octave marimba. All parts utilize only two mallets per player with the flexibility of changing mallet hardness between movements if inclined.

c. 8’ 00”

* There is a single moment where the player on Part III plays lower than the range of a 4-octave marimba as part of an octave-wide double-stop. Optionally, this player may use a 4⅓-octave marimba, but it is not required for the piece.
