Through the Night (Digital Download)
Through the Night is a trio written for B♭ clarinet, violoncello, and marimba. This piece is written to be, simply, a musical representation of nocturnal occurrences. As you listen, experience the sunset signifying the beginning of the night while a small predator hunts its smaller prey, giving chase. March along with a line of ants—one right after the other—as they look for food, but be careful not to stray away and get lost. When all the light is gone, listen closely and, even in stillness, the night stirs. Then, all the creatures and activities settle down to rest as the sun rises and the birds say “good morning."
